Attacks

edit

Could someone return the old version of the article as some Egyptian fans have begun attacking this article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.167.21.50 (talk) 17:38, 20 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

I agree with the comment above and I think some sort of protection needs to be added to the page as it has been under attack by Egyptians several times now. Wbel (talk) 20:46, 31 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Algeria FA.gif

edit

Image:Algeria FA.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 18:57, 31 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

I have made the required changes. It should be acceptable now. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Canadian Fennec (talkcontribs) 06:28, 30 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

POV

edit

The 82 World Cup section is so biased and written in an overtly inflammatory, almost racist fashion. I'm Algerian and even I find it unbearable. There are more subtle ways to express the shocking character of the German team's behavior (who do not represent the German people as a whole). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.57.194.96 (talk) 12:46, 13 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

There should be a link to the Disgrace of Gijón in the 82 World Cup section. The event is discussed but no link to the actual event page is mentioned BeezOutPres (talk) 19:09, 25 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

So many issues

edit

This article has a huge number of issues; the whole first section (up to the Achievements section) is over-long and incredibly biased. It needs a complete re-write to make it more like other articles on International football teams 122.167.17.226 (talk) 09:31, 19 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

edit

The image File:Algeria FA.png is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

Wrong Germany?

edit

The article states that Algeria were beaten 5:0 by West Germany in Cottbus in 1976. Please check that it was not East Germany as Cottbus is in the former GDR —Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.252.26.60 (talk) 20:26, 18 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Change of tense?

edit

Why is the following paragraph written in the present tense?

[edit] World Cup 1986 In 1984, Algeria takes third place in the 1984 African Nations Cup in Cote d'Ivoire. During the 1986 African Nations Cup, the national teams records two defeats and one draw and is eliminated in the first round. In Mexico, at the 1986 World Cup, the Algerians are not able to pass the first round once again in a group that included Northern Ireland (draw 1-1), Brazil (loss 1-0) and Spain (loss 3-0). Only one Algerian managed to score during this competition: Djamel Zidane. From thereon, Algeria failed to to qualify another World Cup until 2010.

[edit] African Nations Cup 1990 In 1990, Algeria hosts the 1990 African Nations Cup. In the semi-finals, Algeria beats Senegal 2-1 (goals by Menad and Amani in front of 85,000 fans in the Stade 5 Juillet 1962 In the final, in the same stadium, in front of 200,000 fans, against Nigeria, Cherif Oudjani, in the 38th minute, enables Algeria to win the African Nations Cup for the first time. Goalscorers of national team

edit

Rabah Madjer has a total of 28 goals with the Algerian national team not 29. On the 1982 Africa Cup of Nations, match between Algeria and Nigeria, Madjer did not scored a goal, the first one was scored by Okey Isima (on own goal) and the second one by Salah Assad.[1], [2] --Fayçal.09 (talk) 10:33, 26 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Could someone explain the copyright issues with the Algerian FA badge and their constant removal since last year? It's quite strange. To my knowledge, this is a unique case among national football team pages.
