editThere are a few places where I'm not sure I understood the German. I'll see what I can do about the links. Cbdorsett 17:22, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

Bayreuth
editAlexander was margrave of two principalities, Ansbach and Bayreuth. Both ultimately became part of Bavaria:
- In 1806 Prussia ceded Ansbach and the Principality of Ansbach to Bavaria in exchange for the Bavarian duchy of Berg. From Ansbach#History
- Soon after it became Prussian (1792), French (1806) and finally Bavarian (1810) From Bayreuth#History.
The sentence In the German original about these events is not very clear (a typical example of the convoluted way some Germans express themselves, tucking everything into one sentence). A literal translation does not make sense here: rather, the historical context should be re-examined and reworded accordingly. Andreas (T) 14:28, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
- I'll see if I can make it a bit clearer. Xanthoxyl 15:13, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks, you guys. Great job. I'll tweak the English a bit where it needs it. Cbdorsett 09:05, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
- I had terrible trouble verifying when these territories changed hands (after 1792), so could you replace my extremely obscure references with more suitable ones, e.g. from the books in the bibliography? Xanthoxyl 16:02, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

Ancestry
editMinor point, but presently Duchess Christiane Charlotte's father is listed as Karl Alexander of Württemberg (and his mother as Maria of Thurn and Taxis). Presetly these two have birth dates listes 10 years apart, so that parentage is unlikely. Other pages have her as a child of Frederick Charles, Duke of Württemberg-Winnental, with both Christiane Charlotte and Karl Alexander as children. This seems correct (can't verify with independent sources, though). Laogro (talk) 14:09, 14 June 2010 (UTC)
