Removed links to commercial web sites
editI have removed the following text from the article, since it appears to be a commercial link inappropriate to Wikipedia:
Several web businesses such as Linkshare.com specialize in setting up these affiliate relationships.

Removed links to adult web sites
editI removed the list of "adult affiliate networks". There is no such thing. Most adult sites have affiliate programs but they are not generic affiliate networks. Peterkoning 03:40, 21 October 2005 (UTC)
- You will be surprised, but there are already Networks like that. At least one I know of and stumbled across when I was researching something. Its called Totemcash.com. Look for yourself. Anyway, you are right, it does certainly not belong in here. --Roy-SAC 05:22, 27 February 2006 (UTC)
E-commerce
editThis sentence "Beside this, the most proficous industry that has proven greater advantage of the affiliate system, can be traced in the Hotel and Travel Industry, where the concept of affiliate is accessory to the enlargement and empowerment of the affiliated primary product" is poorly written and does not seem to belong under the e-commerce heading. Please rework it. Verne Equinox 22:59, 22 February 2006 (UTC)
I took the hedgetrimmer to it. Peterkoning 17:30, 23 February 2006 (UTC)
Make Affiliate Networks its own Article
editHaving "Affiliate Networks" as a chapter for "Affiliate" is very weak. Affiliate Networks should be its own Article. I would even go further and create individual Articles for the different type of Affiliate Networks since the whole industry diversified a lot. I am sure that I could get a bunch of people to contribute to those articles. What you will probably have to accept are external Links to the Networks or as alternative allow the creation of Articles about each Network. I believe a mix of the two would be appropriate. I can't find the link to request a new article (as stated here Requested Articles - http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Requested_articles) --Roy-SAC 05:18, 27 February 2006 (UTC)
- It DOES have now its own article, so corrected [1]. Markerdryer (talk) 18:03, 29 February 2012 (UTC)
