Why were the references to Dr Mike Bossley removed?
Latest comment: 2 years ago4 comments2 people in discussion
I see that in a recent edit by user Laterthanyouthink, two references to the work of Dr Mike Bossley were removed from the article. He is the leading scientific and conservation voice for the dolphins that inhabit the sanctuary so I can't see a clear rationale for the removal, particularly for the part about his advocacy for an interpretive centre to be established there. Seems to me a clear case of WP:PRESERVE being violated. Mike Bossley has also recently authored a book published by Moonglow Publishing and is notable for his earlier work with Greenpeace in addition to his many decades of work laying the groundwork for the establishment of the Adelaide Dolphin Sanctuary. --Danimations (talk) 06:58, 4 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
Hi Danimations, yes, I realised as I saw more mention of him in the sources as I worked on the article that he is a significant authority, but this was not apparent by the placing and wording of the mentions I removed. It wouldn't go astray to add a bit more about him and explain the significance of his work with regard to the sanctuary in the Background or another section, so feel free to add more. (p.s. Best to ping me if you need to catch my attention while I'm working!). Laterthanyouthink (talk) 10:31, 4 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, I've created a stub bio for him that can be expanded over time. I'm reading his book at the moment, so I'll find a few things in there to fork out to both articles no doubt. --Danimations (talk) 14:09, 4 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
