Citation style
edit- stiil trying to get the book citation software to work. The video guide won't run n Safari, I may need to use firefox. I keep plugging in the same basic citation, thinking it will adjust to the position it is in, but it retains my "ibids" instead.

- I think I have it or at least a part of it. I cut the ibids directly, kept my cursor there, then click on "Fowler AW" under named references. I as bothered at first that the footnote number would not change
, that the supra letters in front were signs of an error, but I guess all references to the same book are handled that way. But how do I show the different page numbers? KFFOWLER (talk) 16:43, 3 March 2012 (UTC)
- For page numbers, you can have the book cited in full in the first instance it appears, then in subsequent appearances with different page numbers you can use a shortened version, as in following example:
- <ref>{{cite book |last=Brownlow |first=Kevin |authorlink=Kevin Brownlow |title=Napoleon: Abel Gance's classic film |edition=1 |location=New York |publisher=Knopf |year=1983 |isbn=0-394-533394-1 |page=214}}</ref>
- <ref>Brownlow 1983, p. 219</ref>
- <ref>Brownlow 1983, pp. 25–31</ref>
- <ref>Brownlow 1983, p. 108</ref>
- I hope that helps. Binksternet (talk) 17:09, 3 March 2012 (UTC)
