I have in fact checked the latest entry of Encyclopedia of Islam, hence why I am reverting you. You asking me to provide a source that supports Persian ethnicity is clear proof that you in fact haven't read EoL volume 3. Here's a source that you can access that does support Persian ethnicity [1] --HistoryofIran (talk) 17:56, 23 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
Where does it support a Persian ethnicity for al-Bal'ami? Regarding Encylopedia of Islam, For your information i have access to the entry, and it does not mention "Persian" at all, any other source to support such claim? MWahaiibii (talk) 18:05, 23 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
@MWahaiibii: Quote, from the "Persian literati" paragraph : "A common feature of medieval society was the existence of influential bureaucratic families of Persian origin, such as the Jeyhānis, the Balʿamis and ʿOtbis under the Samanids, the family of Neẓām-al-Molk in the Saljuq period, and, the Jovaynis and the family of Rašid-al-Din Fażl-Allāh under the Il-khanids."---Wikaviani (talk)(contribs)20:55, 23 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
