bias - undue weight issues
editAA is in the news now because he appears to be denied access to Canada by the Canadian government even though the Mounties and CSIS do not believe he is a terrorist. There appears to be a real injustice here that distinguished newspapers have noted and are not on the article. If I hear from no one I will POV tag on the article shortly, and after that if I have no communication I will begin to edit the article.--scuro (talk) 23:38, 25 April 2009 (UTC)
- Please do edit the article immediately, to add missing information! :) Sherurcij (speaker for the dead) 23:39, 25 April 2009 (UTC)
- I'll wait a bit to see if someone else chimes in. I work slowly and methodically but with your support I think we are justified in putting a pov tag on the article.--scuro (talk) 00:49, 26 April 2009 (UTC)
- First attempt to happen this morning. If you want something added point me in the right direction. I don't know this case cold.--scuro (talk) 14:27, 26 April 2009 (UTC)
- No one seems to object to changes made. I will continue editing and remove the POV tag because undue weight issues are not so pressing anymore and progress has and continues to be made.--scuro (talk) 11:49, 29 April 2009 (UTC)

"The" Sudan?
editThe article contains several references to Sudan as "the Sudan". As far as I'm aware, this is obsolete usage, and the country should be referred to (in English) as "Sudan", without an article. Any objections to the article being edited accordingly? Richwales (talk) 02:35, 8 June 2009 (UTC)
- "officially the Republic of the Sudan", it is not "officially the Republic of the Chile", the the is actually an important distinction. Otherwise one might as well say "He traveled to United States", rather than "He traveled to the United States". Sherurcij (speaker for the dead) 14:54, 8 June 2009 (UTC)
No-fly list
editThe article refers to "the United Nations terrorist no-fly list". The linked no-fly list page describes the US no-fly list, rather than the United Nations Security Council blacklist of terrorist suspects known as the 1267 list where Mr. Abdelrazik's name is listed. MCMLXI (talk) 14:52, 12 August 2009 (UTC)
- New topics go at the bottom.
- You raise a good point. Actually, I believe the USA has multiple no-fly lists. IMO each deserves an articlle.
- Cheers! Geo Swan (talk) 08:10, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
great job article presents information without taking sides
editnews is starting to take notice of his situation but appear heavily biased against the government. it would be helpful if they discussed the reasons used to arrest him. knowing terrorists, being on lists of supporters is more than just saying the government randomly picked him.
recent lawsuit and organization of the article
editInfo on his recently filed lawsuit - "Abousfian Abdelrazik is suing the government – and Foreign Minister Lawrence Cannon personally – for $27-million over Canada's role in his arrest and alleged torture in Sudan and for violating his constitutional right to come home". [1] The problem that I see here is that this information could be considered very important and should have it's own section. Other information is no longer important, should have less weight, and some of it could probably be pulled off the page. In a word the article should probably be reorganized. What do others think?--scuro (talk) 14:26, 4 October 2009 (UTC)
- Took a stab at updating the lede. Clean it up some more if you wish. Will update rest of article in the future.--scuro (talk) 02:55, 7 October 2009 (UTC)
a good source?
editIn reorganizing the article I have been looking at the timeline of events. I have been using this page for the timelines. http://www.peoplescommission.org/en/abdelrazik/timeline.php The webpage is in the recommended links section. I know of no other source for timelines.--scuro (talk) 03:18, 20 October 2009 (UTC)
subsection creation and also removal
editI've been flushing out the article and adding material. As I have done this I've tried to create a more encyclopedic article and remove the sequential bullet point entries. It is a work in progress. Subsections have been created. Not sure what to do with these two subsections: a)Allegations, b)Reports of the Canadian authorities involvement in Abdelrazik's capture and interrogation. I am leaning towards integrating this material into the rest of the article.--scuro (talk) 14:22, 25 October 2009 (UTC)
Reference
editWhy are we citing http://en.wiki.x.io/w/index.php?title=Abousfian_Abdelrazik&action=edit§ion=3 as a reference in this article? --JN466 14:05, 19 April 2010 (UTC)
