Lead section & single release

edit

@RazorEyeEdits: I'm not sure what you mean by "The track will be released as a single by Parlophone in May 2014, serving as the third release by the band in promotion of Ghost Stories." What kind of release do you have in mind? I thought this sentence was referring to a physical release, since we already have a digital one (dated 2 May 2014). And yes, I know the song isn't being sold as a separate item on iTunes – I think we would all prefer that, but I'm not sure it's going to happen. So, how do you know there will be some other release later this month? Are there any sources for that? — Mayast (talk) 14:28, 5 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

I was simply being faithful that there would be a single release of "A Sky Full of Stars". There was only the iTunes track release at the time, so this put the article in an awkward position of whether or not it should be relegated to a song, despite such an enormous influx of the track being described as a single. Today, however, it's been put up on Google Play, so crisis averted, I guess! :)

Good to know :) I can accept 5 May 2014 as the release date in the infobox, however, I moved the information about this iTunes release to a "Release" section, as it's important and shouldn't be removed from the article completely – based on the reported sales, we can expect the song to chart in several countries on iTunes sales alone. I put the information about Google Play as well, but as it's not available in Poland yet, I wasn't able to reference it correctly – could you do that? — Mayast (talk) 08:34, 6 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
It would be easier to move the information itself to the lead, actually, and as for the Google Play reference, it was already done in the release history!

Actually, release history section isn't necessary when there is only one release date, plus lead section needs to follow the body of the article. And I think that when someone was reviewing "Atlas" article for B-class, they commented that "Charts" section with a table wasn't enough, and the article needed to have the chart positions discussed in a "Commercial performance" section as well. So, I think we need a section with these release dates in text, I could also add the Spotify release there. — Mayast (talk) 08:47, 6 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hardwell Remix

edit

Hi! Coldplay released (on spotify) an official remix of the song realized by Hardwell... So I think we could add it at the end of the page (like Giorgio Moroder Remix for the Midnight page) what do you think about it? ;) (^_^)FilBenLeafBoy(^_^)(Let's TALK!) — Preceding undated comment added 12:29, 8 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Official remix? Then there should be something from the Coldplay camp about this. That needs to be added if there is, otherwise it needs to be removed. Karst (talk) 10:16, 31 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
