Sourcing
editI've twice removed the following sentence from the Lede:
- "The film explores central theme of The Babadook, an Australian film with supernatural and filmy scientific narratives using Albert Lewis and his son Adam."
with the copyedit:
- "In the film, a global crisis arises when a comet passes very close to the Earth for 9 days. The film explores Albert Lewis and his son Adam's lives, as a direct result of the comet."
I have done so because the connection to The Babadook appears nowhere else in the body of the article. And while simply searching for '9' film reviews brings up a lot more about the 2009 animated film that this more recent and unimaginative addition (imo, any filmmaker that cannot come up with a title different than one made less than 20 years ago is just stupid), I am not seeing any comparison in reliable sources connecting Babadook to the most recent film bearing that title. Therefore, I am forced to conclude that the comparison being made is a personal observation by the editor. If so, we cannot include it because we as editors are not citable sources.
