Staff

edit

I think it would be good if there was a list of CEO and RRR Staff.

Sue Mathews

Jean, Val and Richard come to mind.. they were instrumental in the design of the current logo that is still in place today. Richards also worked on the Breakfaster before taking up a gig with Worksafe.

I think these staff should be noted.

RRR in association with the Universal Threatre managed by Hocking and Woods played a major role in the development of entertainment in Australia — Preceding unsigned comment added by 49.183.206.204 (talk) 00:46, 17 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

Commitment to independence and integrity

edit

Didn't 3RRR once pull a science programme after it made critical statements about the Church of Scientology? If so, shouldn't an objective article mention this?

If this is the case, and you think it notable, add a reference by all means. This incident probably hasn't been added to the article already because it's minor compared to far more well known aspects of the station mentioned in the article.

I would if I had the details, and could verify it. I'm hoping that someone else could verify or refute what I had heard. Acb 18:15, 26 July 2005 (UTC)Reply

As far as I know RRR still has a science program... einstien a go go? PeterPartyOn 13:27, 29 March 2006 (AEST)

"Australia's best-known community radio station"

edit

The article presently says that 3RRR is arguably Australia's best-known community radio station. An anonymous user inserted "except for PBS", which I have reverted. My reasoning and knowledge of the matter is that RRR is Australia's best-known example of such stations because of (a) its longevity, (b) its impact on the counterculture from post-punk onward, and (c) its presence in Melbourne, a key epicentre of independent live music in Australia, and Australia's second-largest city (Sydney did not have an equivalent station until the foundation of FBi recently; 2SER was always more talk-oriented and didn't have the cultural impact of 3RRR). More evidence of the prominence of 3RRR would be provided by the ubiquity of 3RRR stickers, even interstate. Acb 18:15, 26 July 2005 (UTC)Reply

"Programs"

edit

Does the list of programs contribute anything? Now specifics of the type of music or program is presented. Also, considering the age of the list, it would almost definately be out of date by now. I am proposing removal of the list, and offering instead a general statement on variety of programming and the policy for programming. Jacketed 21:21, 5 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Well a list of older defunct programmes is of great archival use. Lentisco 05:02, 6 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

I can see that, but only if dates with each program are there. (Start - end dates) Jacketed 21:30, 6 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

City of license

edit

I have changed the "city of license" in the infobar from "Mt Dandenong" to "Melbourne", as the station is licensed in the ACMA Melbourne RA1 LAP. It transmits from Mt Dandenong, but this is different from the license area. I admit this now makes the following line in the infobar redundant... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 60.242.35.46 (talk) 14:04, 27 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Merge Local and/or General (radio program)

edit

I failed to find sourcing for Local and/or General. If sourcing doesn't exist, it could be merged here to the list of past and present programs (it's already listed with Jason Moore as current host). Suriname0 (talk) 20:22, 3 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
