The team is far more important than the source of the engine. If you like you may list the engine source at about the fourth line, but certainly not the first. This is an article for the general public first and foremost and the engine source is a long way from being important to the them. Additionally enduro co-drivers are extraordinarily premature. If you have sources for them at this early stage then I'll be happy to oblige, but otherwise, let's concentrate on getting the main game drivers up. Wikipedia is not supposed to be a gossip page or a rumours forum. -Falcadore (talk) 00:59, 8 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Enduro pairings

edit

These were deleted as they are uniformly unconfirmed, and certainly a lot of invention there are around a half a dozen full time seats yet to be confirmed. Wikipedia is not for publishing rumour or speculation, and such claims should be backed up with sources. Refer WP:CRYSTAL --Falcadore (talk) 01:27, 5 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Van Gisbergen to #9 Falcon

edit

Copied to User talk:125.238.248.243
Do you have a source for SVG to the #9 car as you have editted on 2008 V8 Supercar season? Wikipedia needs third party sources for any claims made by an editor. The article already has a source stating Besnard will get the #9 car, as reported in Motorsport Enews. If you have a source, state it otherwise it will be reverted. This is why the previous edits featuring co-drivers were deleted as it was listed without sources, and some of them (most notable Johnson/Earnhardt) were plain fantasy. --Falcadore (talk) 03:21, 8 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

TBAs

edit

The two motorsport magazines conflict over who will driver the #9 Falcon, AA claiming Van Gisbergen, Motorsport News claims Besnard, both both state it has not been confirmed - so TBA seems the best answer. Additionally, GRM has not confirmed Dean Canto, and the franchises 021, 20, 50 & 24 are all vacant at this time with plans for all four franshises far from certain. So the owners are listed only. --Falcadore (talk) 09:44, 9 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

V8 endurance drivers

edit

I have to once again make the point that Wikipedia is not a forum for speculation. Confirmed drivers only please. Let us see some sources. --Falcadore (talk) 07:59, 8 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Recent edits

edit

I've undone a few of the recent edits, and here is why.

a) Recent changes to Adelaide 500 rules only Race 2 decides round result. Race 1 results count only towards championship pointscore, not Adelaide 500. It's a change for this year which V8 Supercar is trying to apply retrospectively as well. Rick Kelly has far more points, but Cameron McConville is officially third for the round. It's stupid I know.

b) Toll is not naming rights sponsor of HRT. There is no mention of Toll Holden Racing Team anywhere on the website or press release.

c) Endurance drivers are not confirmed. Unless they are confirmed, they do not go up. If you have a confirmation, label it. Speculations are not allowed.

d) 'Ret' instead of '0'. It's right there in the legend. Don't contradict the legend. Additional 'Ret' indicates specifically that the driver did not finish as opposed to (NC) which is the same colour and is for finishing the race but with not enough laps to score points. --Falcadore (talk) 11:19, 27 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Controversies

edit

Those recent additions are very event specific - they really belong on the page for 2008 Clipsal 500 rather than on the season summary page. --Falcadore (talk) 12:55, 13 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

V8 Supercar season

edit

It has come to light on the talk page of the 2007 series page that the title is misleading without any mention of the Fujitsu series as the title 'season' should encompass all V8 Supercar racing. However, as the 2008 should have priority I have complete a first pass test page HERE, as a method of summarising the V8 Supercar season, and move this page to a specific page 2008 V8 Supercar Championship Series, also creating links for the second tier Fujitsu and third tier Shannons series pages to be referenced.

Any comment? --Falcadore (talk) 03:21, 29 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yes, that would be a good page to use. Good work Falcadore. - Kytabu (talk) 01:41, 14 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Listing the Bathurst results

edit

I've twice reverted the listing of the Bathurst 1000 results as they are already covered obliquely in the points table, and specifically in the 2008 Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000. To add it to this article is unnecessary. --Falcadore (talk) 09:24, 5 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
