editBoth Virginia and West Virginia units were initially recruited for 3 months or 1 year. When the American Civil War lasted longer than advocates expected, recruitment was for longer terms. The Virginia units don't have separate articles for the 3 month and longer enlistments, neither does the West Virginia Division of Culture http://www.wvculture.org/history/journal_wvh/wvh55-3.html.
Thus, I think these articles should be combined, but have neither the expertise nor time to do so.Jweaver28 (talk) 15:09, 23 July 2017 (UTC)
