Hey all. I'm doing hurricane research at the University of Florida. Currently I'm using these pages simply for names of storms since the model I'm extracting data from (SHIPS) only contains the first four letters of each name. Some wiki pages are missing storms that were tracked using this model. As far as my reason for writing here; TD10 occured September 29-31 and not October 29-31. I went ahead and made the changes on the page but figured I should introduce myself, lest I make any more edits. Inxtricablfate 02:45, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

Superstorm

It would be trivial, but as the 1993 superstorm was subtropical, would it be worth a brief mention of it? HurricaneFan25 19:09, 18 November 2011 (UTC)

There's no evidence it was subtropical. If some agency said it was (and not a mere reference to the system having some tropical characteristics), then it might be worth mentioning, along the lines of the 1994 Christmas nor'easter. --♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 19:55, 18 November 2011 (UTC)

• Nope, I checked the Dartmouth archive and there was nothing about $1 billion in damage. Now Tropical Storm Beatriz apparently caused $1.7 billion, which may have been in combination with Arlene.
