NPOV
editI put the NPOV tag at the top of the page because the current article reads like a press release. Here are some offending sentences:
- "112 is not the average put together singing group"
- "Q gives 112 their trademark sexiness"
- "This is a Grammy award winning group which is something that their closest competition group; Jagged Edge cannot boast"
Misceditwhat does 112 stand for? The Atlanta night club Club 112 112 and New EditioneditWas 112 involved in the New Edition album Home Again? Track 3 of the album has the last name Scandrick among of the writers of that song. Decimus Tedius Regio Zanarukando 09:23, 1 January 2007 (UTC)

Contradictions
edit- This article completely contradicts itself several times when it talks about the current lineup. Does anyone have any reliable sources for any of this? Erpert (let's talk about it) 08:29, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
- Looks fine to me. They split up and 3 got back together when they reformed. Where abouts is the contradiction? (removed tag for now) WormTT 14:45, 18 February 2011 (UTC)

112 (R&B group) → 112 (band) – Genre not needed. Unreal7 (talk) 09:57, 2 June 2014 (UTC)
- You're right, but is 112 a purely vocal group, or do they play instruments? If the former, 112 (group) would be the correct name. The (band) version is fine as a redirect, though. --BDD (talk) 17:41, 2 June 2014 (UTC)
- Move to 112 (group) per BDD. --StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 01:12, 7 June 2014 (UTC)

The result of the move request was: move to 112 (band). Armbrust The Homunculus 11:38, 15 July 2014 (UTC)
112 (group) → 112 (band) – The redirect should be the other way around to be in sync with the titles of most of the other articles on here about musical ensembles. Erpert blah, blah, blah... 16:12, 8 July 2014 (UTC)
Oppose No, there's nothing unusual about this. Musical ensembles that play instruments are called bands; those that don't are just called groups. Examine Category:American rhythm and blues musical groups. Groups where the musicians are all vocalists may be called "bands" in common use, but this isn't strictly correct. --BDD (talk) 18:40, 8 July 2014 (UTC)- Then why do Band (music) and Music group both redirect to Musical ensemble? Anyway, we shouldn't have some articles for ensembles who don't play instruments listed as band and others listed as group; they should all be the same. Erpert blah, blah, blah... 05:06, 9 July 2014 (UTC)
- Both bands and groups are types of musical ensembles. That's why. Because the band/group distinction may not be made by many readers, I wouldn't object to a broad deprecation of the (group) disambiguator, but just changing one doesn't seem fruitful. You could try starting such a discussion at WT:NCM. --BDD (talk) 16:01, 9 July 2014 (UTC)
- I would actually prefer 112 (ensemble). Having a number followed by "(group)" makes me think of a haplogroup. bd2412 T 12:47, 10 July 2014 (UTC)
- Support - don't understand BDD's comment since this band plays instruments. In ictu oculi (talk) 04:12, 14 July 2014 (UTC)
- Ah, you're right. I must have overlooked that. --BDD (talk) 16:11, 14 July 2014 (UTC)

I just cut this out
editbecause it is a little weird and is unreferenced.
- " Things started to fall apart as they got older as Lagon was forced to leave the group due to his inability to keep up with the group's harmonies & not being focused. He eventually went into the Navy, did voice over work including some for the group once they became 112 & toured. He is now a solo artist & producer in Atlanta. Scandrick's mother started using her son to jerk the other members around & the group decided to move on & replace him with fellow schoolmate Quinnes Parker in 1993 but when she saw the move Rev. Scandrick stopped jerking the boys & Marvin stayed with the group. However, due to the issues & lack of seriousness at the time Reginald Finley the oldest member left the group as he was forced to join the military & was deployed to Germany. While on leave Finley performed in a talent show with Michael, Daron, & Marvin however Quinnes did not perform at this show & they gained the attention of music managers Kevin Wales & Courtney Sills who were connected in the business with a lot of execs including Tim & Bob, Bad Boy Records CEO Sean "Puffy" Combs, New Edition & Bell Biv DeVoe member Michael Bivins & Dallas Austin. Sills brought the guys to his good friends producers Tim & Bob who eventually developed the group and did demos that eventually got them signed.. Wales & Sills agreed to work with the boys & manage them & Wales sought to set up an audition for the boys with Combs however Finley had to return to Germany & Parker would continue with the group. An Atlanta native & friend of the group Richard Wingo was originally tapped to replace Finley as the new fifth member but his friend Xscape member Kandi Burruss brought him into another Atlanta group Jagged Edge instead."
