biased article?

edit

Oh dear... I have seen a lot of bull in wikipedia articles... but this makes me speechless. Has the guy who wrote this even seen the movie? I am not even trying to defend the movie or make any kind of political argument... but the movie simply does not contain the plot that is described here. It is really an anti-war and anti-Nazi movie. The events described in the Wikipedia article simply do not happen in this film.

Agreed Hoerth - the person who wrote this is talking shite: the idea that Asch and pals like Vierbein are Nazis is laughable

Agreed. Reading this article I was surprised to think that post-war German cinema - in the era of the Clean Wehrmacht Myth - would be somewhat anti-Semitic. Seeing parts of the films it seems as if the Americans (and the Jews among them) are depicted in the manner they are depicted for the same reason the SD officers are depicted as ice cold and the Volkssturm are depicted as ridiculous - the film mocks everyone as a caricature. Therefore, the interpretation of Prof. Bartov seems out of place. אדי97 (talk) 12:06, 8 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Omg, what a ridiculous movie review. Is it written by a member of the Committee Against Unamerican Activities? Not even a third of the movie series deals with Americans, and of course Americans were a threat to german officers, if they could put you against the wall, be it rightfully or not. Someone must not have seen the movies, and just be butthurt from reading another review.2A02:2454:3E2:AD00:2D86:5FA4:505A:CC83 (talk) 15:25, 24 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
