Carved high seat pillars
edit"Öndvegissúlur, or high-seat pillars, were a pair of wooden poles placed on each side of the seat of a Viking chieftain. They often had cut-out images of Æsir and may have held a reference to the tree of life, called Yggdrasil."
The only reference to high seat pillars having a carved image on them is TMB's in Eyrbyggja Saga, Landnamabok does not mention any other settlers bringing large wooden idols, be they god posts or carved pillars, with the exception of TMB, even if they were hof priests...
