History
editThe State Chancellery was built in 1981. The building initially served as the headquarters of the Central Committee of the Georgian Communist Party, however after Georgia declared its independence from the Soviet Union, it was authorised as the official residence of the President of Georgia. After the Rose Revolution of 2003 and the restoration of the office of Prime Minister, the building was granted a new status as the headquarters of the Government Administration.[3]
