Fictional character biography

edit

Slipknot is a former chemical developer and enemy of Firestorm who is skilled in wielding ropes and developed a special chemical to make them indestructible.

Slipknot later joins the Suicide Squad and helps battle the Manhunters during the Millennium event. However, he loses his left arm after its explosive implant detonates.[3]

In subsequent appearances in Identity Crisis, Infinite Crisis, and Final Crisis, Slipknot obtains a bionic arm before being killed by the Tattooed Man.[4]

In The New 52 continuity reboot, Slipknot is resurrected and joins the Secret Society of Super Villains.[5]

Slipknot II

edit

An unidentified, second incarnation of Slipknot appears in Robin (vol. 2) #145.[6]

Powers and abilities

edit

Slipknot is a skilled martial artist and hand-to-hand combatant, and wields powerful indestructible ropes.[citation needed]

Other versions

edit

An alternate timeline variant of Slipknot makes a minor appearance in Flashpoint: Legion of Doom #2 as a prisoner of Doom prison.[7]

In other media

edit

Slipknot appears in Suicide Squad, portrayed by Adam Beach.[8][9] This version is a Native American mercenary who is recruited into Amanda Waller's Task Force X program to defeat the Enchantress. However, Captain Boomerang initially believes the nano-bombs implanted into the squad members' necks to dissuade them from abandoning the mission are a ruse and Slipknot is subsequently killed while mounting an escape attempt.[10]
