Sajil Sreedhar is an Indian author and journalist. He writes in Malayalam. Athikayan, his biography of K. P. Paul, won the S. K. Pottekkatt award in 2016.[1]. He has published thirty-five books in literary genres including short stories, novels, literary criticism, film criticism, and biography. He is a recipient of the Malayattoor award for his debut novel Vasavadatha.

Career
editHe has written the biographies of Indian personalities including M. T. Vasudevan Nair, P. S. Sreenivasan, Vellappally Natesan, Kochouseph Chittilappally, Thilakan, K.P. Paul, and G. P. C. Nair.
His first novel Vasavadatha interpreted the evolution of a person from materialistic desire to spiritual insight and is considered one of his best. The novel won the Malayattoor Award. Vasavadatha has been translated into English.
He then published Sarvajnapeedom, which narrates the life of Buddhist saints Upagupthan and Utharas. His novel Aathmasourabham was based on the life of Kerala Renaissance Leader Dr. Palppu. He wrote two novels based on the Hindu epic, Santha and Paramapadam. Santha interprets the life of Sreeraman's elder sister Santha. Paramapadam narrates the story of King Pareekshith. He wrote a historical novel Avarnnan based on the life of Arattupuzha Velayudha Panicker. His short story "E M S Nte Kathrika" narrates the relationship between a legendary leader and an ordinary worker. He wrote and directed the first historical television series in Kerala, Paliyathachan. As part of the Kerala government's action plan of one hundred days, he interviewed eminent personalities and published the interviews in book form.
He wrote an in-depth critical study of the films of Adoor Gopalakrishnan. Another major work was Thirakkathayude Sancharavazhikal, which analysed the aesthetics of Malayalam screenplays. Srushtiparathayude Ananya Saubhagam was a study of Malayalam novels.
He served as a jury member of Kerala state film awards in 2013. He worked as editor of Mangalam Weekly, one of India's most circulated publications.
He won the first M. K. Sanu Literary award for Best Biography in 2015.
