Etymology
editThe name Saint-Majorique-de-Grantham was chosen in honor of father Majorique-Pierre Marchand who was put in charge of a commission to verify the merits of the residents request to have their own parish separated from the rest of Grantham. The Grantham section was put to emphasize the fact that it was formerly a section of that municipality.

editIn the 2021 Census of Population conducted by Statistics Canada, Saint-Majorique-de-Grantham had a population of 1,384 living in 524 of its 536 total private dwellings, a change of -0.3% from its 2016 population of 1,388. With a land area of 57.5 km2 (22.2 sq mi), it had a population density of 24.1/km2 (62.3/sq mi) in 2021.[5]
