National Level:
Sainik Schools Society: This is an autonomous body registered under the Societies Registration Act. It manages all Sainik Schools across India. The Honorary Secretary of this society is typically an officer from the Ministry of Defence. Board of Governors: This board, chaired by the Union Minister of Defence, provides overall supervision and control of the Sainik Schools Society. It includes members like Chief Ministers/Education Ministers from states where Sainik Schools are located, and eminent educationists.
School Level:
Principal: The Principal of each Sainik School is the academic and administrative head. They are typically an active service officer of the rank of Colonel (or equivalent) from the Indian Army, Navy, or Air Force. Vice Principal: The Vice Principal assists the Principal in managing academic affairs and student discipline. They are usually of the rank of Lieutenant Colonel (or equivalent). Administrative Officer: The Administrative Officer handles the school's day-to-day administrative functions.
Local Level:
Local Board of Administration (LBA): Each Sainik School has its own LBA. This board comprises members like local dignitaries, Members of Parliament, and representatives from the state government. It advises the school administration on local issues and plays a role in fostering community relations.
