Rowa Wildlife Sanctuary

Rowa Wildlife Sanctuary is a wildlife sanctuary in the North Tripura district of the Indian state of Tripura.[1]

Description

The sanctuary covers and area of 0.858 km2 (0.331 sq mi) and was declared a protected area in 1988.[2]

Flora and fauna

The vegetation consists of deciduous and semi-evergreen forests.[3] It harbours various species of birds, mammals and reptiles.[4] Major wildlife include the barking deer, wild boar, pig-tailed macaque, crab-eating mongoose, indian porcupine, indian rock python, and birds such as barbets, bulbuls, cuckoos, darters, pigeons, drongos, ducks, oriloes, owls, parakeets, partridges, sunbirds, woodpeckers, weaverbirds, treepies and jungle mynas.[3]
