Research

edit

Manchón has published extensively in prestigious journals such as Journal of Second Language Writing,[11] The Modern Language Journal,[12] Language Learning,[13] Annual Review of Applied Linguistics,[14] International Review of Applied Linguistics in Language Teaching.[15]

Manchón is noted for her theoretical contributions to the study of second language writing. She distinguished the writing-to-learn (WL) and the learning-to-write (LW) dimensions.[16] Her research interests have focused on the cognitive dimension of the acquisition and use of second languages, with special emphasis on the psycholinguistic dimension of textual production.

She has edited several books on second language writing: Writing in Foreign Language Contexts: Learning, Teaching and Research, Learning-to-Write and Writing-to-Learn in an Additional Language, L2 Writing Development: Multiple Perspectives and Writing and Language Learning: Advancing Research Agendas.
