History

edit

On February 16, 2022, Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, a video game director of The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077, had announced he was leaving CD Projekt to form his own studio.[1] It revealed its first project, a AAA dark fantasy game built using Unreal Engine 5.[2]

In November 2022, the company and a minority stake were acquired by NetEase.[3] Ir retained full creative control and ownership of its intellectual property.[4]

On January 15, 2024, the official studio's account makes an announcement on X: "Usually we don't comment on rumours. However, since we've heard something through the grapevine... Yes, we are working on Dawnwalker!",[5] with a promotional picture of what looks like a vampire wielding a medieval sword on a dark, red misty background. The game is currently in development and has no set release date.[6]
