No update still. Anybody can help? --Broletto (talk) 17:20, 7 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
I updated the news section. Il Cavaliere was the focus of much of what I found. Feedback welcome.--Chaser (talk) 20:27, 7 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Sicilian Regional Assembly request for help

edit

Hi. The page Sicilian Regional Assembly seems to be an automatic translation of the Italian wikipedia article. Unfortunately I can't understand it, I cannot make head or tail of it to improve it. If someone knows about the topic, or can read Italian, could you perhaps improve the English article? Thanks. Run to the hills! (talk) 22:10, 20 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Are feature sections changing or are they fixed? Today, 26th August 2015 I can read works, people and facts from northern Italy only. Personally during international meeting abroad I use to show Italy as southern Italy only (the toponim 'Italy' belonged to the southern part of the peninsula when it was born, 3500 years ago); historically and culturarly northern Italy is not so 'Italian' as central and southern part are. Featured articles should be divided like this: 3/4 for people, works and facts from southern and central Italy; 1/4 from northern Italy. What I see is 100% from northern Italy. For me that is even not Italy, sorry. We already soffered more than 150 years of colonization and annihilation; we don't need to be discriminated by Wikipedia --AlexanderFreud (talk) 13:12, 26 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Notice from the Portals WikiProject

edit

WikiProject Portals is back!

The project was rebooted and completely overhauled on April 17th, 2018. Its goals are to revitalize the entire portal system, make building and maintaining portals easier, support the ongoing improvement of portals and the editors dedicated to this, and design the portals of the future.

As of May 2nd, 2018, membership is at 60 editors, and growing. You are welcome to join us.

There are design initiatives for revitalizing the portals system as a whole, and for improving each component of portals. So far, 2 new dynamic components have been developed: Template:Transclude lead excerpt and Template:Transclude random excerpt.

Tools are provided for building and maintaining portals, including automated portals that update themselves in various ways.

And, if you are bored and would like something to occupy your mind, we have a wonderful task list.

From your friendly neighborhood Portals WikiProject. Hope to see you there. Sincerely,    — The Transhumanist   07:34, 2 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

There is a copyright tag being applied to many Italian images used on wiki-it which appears to have been unverified since at least as far back as 2012 and which, to my inexpert eye, says completely different things in English and in Italian.

The Italian-language version says:

* "Dopo aver accuratamente verificato la validità della licenza, questa immagine potrà essere ricopiata su Wikimedia Commons, rendendola così disponibile anche a Wikipedia in altre lingue e agli altri progetti Wikimedia. Ma non va né richiesta la cancellazione di questa copia né inserito il template "NowCommons"

* Carica l'immagine su Commons con le licenze "PD-Italy" "PD-1996|Italia|1 gennaio 1996" solo se l'immagine è precedente al 1976, altrimenti l'immagine verrà cancellata. (maggiori info) Puoi farti aiutare dal CommonsHelper

* Attenzione:

* Questo file è stato caricato su it.wikipedia per motivi tecnici e non deve essere cancellato, nemmeno se risulta orfano o presente identico su Wikimedia Commons!"

The English-language version is much shorter. It says:

* "This file cannot be moved to Wikimedia Commons!"

If you think the English language tranlsation used here is correct then I apoligise for wasting your time and please read no further. Otherwise:

Italian is not my mother (nor even second, third ..... ) language, and I have no idea how wiki-templates work. But where they are applied mindlessly to protect wiki-readers from acquiiring knowlege, then I suggest we have a wiki problem. You can find the template on question on Italian wikipedia identified as "PD-Italia". (You need to go to wiki-it and substitute {{}} for "" to read what the offending template produces on wiki-it, or find an image to which it has already been applied, possibly via "wiki-it: Categoria:PD Italia". I've not done that here: initial attempts simply messed up the page. If you try and reproduce it on wiki-en it appears as something completely different, in any case.

If you care, and especially if you know how to sort the problem out, thank you. Be well. Charles01 (talk) 09:44, 30 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

I have noticed that in en.wiki the italics for Italian foods are either put in completely at random or omitted when needed. JackkBrown (talk) 11:58, 21 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

@JackkBrown: Few editors watch the portal talk pages. You might do better to post at the WikiProject talk page, Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Italy. -- John of Reading (talk) 12:05, 21 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

Honours

Would you help me put honours on the "Federica Pellegrini" page? There are really too many, and I'm in trouble. You can find them here: https://it.wiki.x.io/wiki/Federica_Pellegrini. JackkBrown (talk) 16:27, 20 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
