edit- 1903 – Danbury Union Station in Danbury, Connecticut, on the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad, opens.
- 1987 – Union Pacific Railroad files with the Interstate Commerce Commission to acquire the Missouri–Kansas–Texas Railroad.

edit- 2005 – In the Ghotki rail crash, a passenger train stopped at the Ghotki, Pakistan, train station is hit from behind by a train that missed a signal; more than 100 fatalities are reported.[2][3][4]
