Like all Plasmodium species P. cyclopsi has both vertebrate and insect hosts. The vertebrate hosts for this parasite are mammals.

editThis species was described in Gabon.
Hosts
editThe only known host species for this parasite is the cyclops roundleaf bat (Hipposideros cyclops).
