Biography

edit

Niall J. English (born March 29th, 1979) was born in Dublin, Ireland, to Michael and Catherine English. He grew up in Dublin and Brussels. He speaks Irish and French. [2][3]

In 2000, he got a honors degree in Chemical Engineering from the University College Dublin,[2] and he completed his Ph.D. in 2003. [3]

In January 2007, he was hired as a lecturer at the School of Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering, and was promoted to senior lecturer in 2014. In 2017, he became a professor at the same school.[3][4]

He is a co-founder and director of BioSimulytics[5] and Aqua-B.[3][4] In 2020, Aqua B won the Institution of Chemical Engineers' (IChemE) Global Award in Water Award category.[6]

In 2023, he also tried to block the University College Dublin from granting commercialization license to his rival companies, which was denied by the Commercial Court.[7][8]
