NephroPlus is dedicated to improving the quality of life for dialysis patients by offering high- quality, affordable, and convenient dialysis services. With over 450 centers in more than 250 cities across India,[4] the Philippines,[5] Uzbekistan,[6] and Nepal,[7] the company's vision is to create a holistic and patient-centric environment that ensures not only medical care but also emotional and psychological support for patients undergoing dialysis.
History
editThe inception of NephroPlus was deeply influenced by the personal experiences of its co- founders. Kamal D Shah, a dialysis patient himself since 1997, had been managing a relatively normal life, but was acutely aware of the gaps in the existing dialysis care infrastructure in India.[8] Vikram Vuppala, a healthcare strategy consultant[9] with extensive experience in the USA, sought to bring a transformative change in the Indian healthcare system. After discovering Kamal's blog,[10] which detailed his life on dialysis and the challenges faced by dialysis patients, Vikram reached out to Kamal. This meeting led to the formation of NephroPlus, with the goal of providing patient-centric dialysis services that prioritize the well-being of the patient in every aspect.
Services
editNephroPlus offers a variety of dialysis-related services, including:
Hemodialysis: Standard dialysis treatment for patients with kidney failure.[11]
Home Hemodialysis:[12] Enabling patients to receive dialysis treatment in the comfort of their own homes.
Innovation
editNephroPlus is known for its innovative approaches to dialysis care, which include:
Dialysis on Wheels:[13] A mobile dialysis unit designed to reach patients in remote areas.
Dialysis on Call:[14] On-demand dialysis services available to patients at their home as per their convenience.
Patient-Centric Initiatives
editNephroPlus organizes the Dialysis Olympiad,[15] a unique sporting event that encourages dialysis patients to participate in competitive sports,[16] promoting the message that dialysis should not limit one’s ability to lead an active life.
Aashayein,[17][18] a community initiative by NephroPlus, is designed to inspire hope and empower dialysis patients. It provides support through educational workshops, group activities, and peer interaction, aiming to improve the quality of life for those undergoing dialysis.
