Nariman Dzhelyal Enverovych (born 27 April 1980) is the first deputy chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People, journalist and activist.

Early life and career
editDzhelyal was born on 27 April 1980 in Uzbekistan, in the city of Navoiy. When he was four years old, the family moved to Dzhankoy, Crimea. He studied political science at the Odesa National University.[1]
In November 2013, Dzhelal became a deputy of Refat Chubarov, chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People.[citation needed]
In August 2021, Nariman was a participant of the Crimea Platform international summit in Kyiv. He was detained after returning home in September.[3]
FSB kept Nariman in handcuffs with a bag over his head, exerted psychological pressure and treated him particularly cruelly. Later, FSB published a statement that Dzhelyal is suspected of being involved in the gas pipeline explosion on 23 August 2021, near Simferopol.[1]
On 21 September 2022 the Russian-controlled "Supreme Court of Crimea" found Dzhelyal guilty of sabotage and sentenced him to 17 years in prison with a fine of 700 thousand rubles.[3]
