Structure
editThe NDUFAF8 gene is located on the q arm of chromosome 17 in position 25.3 and spans 1,987 base pairs.[4] The gene produces a 7.756 kDa protein composed of 74 amino acids.[6][7]
Function
editThe protein encoded by the NDUFAF8 gene is involved in the assembly of mitochondrial Complex I (NADH-ubiquinone oxidoreductase). This protein is required to stabilize NDUFAF5 during assembly of Complex I.[5]
Interaction
editNDUFAF8 has protein-protein interactions with NDUFAF5, stabilizing it.[5]
