Taxonomy

This species was described as Megafroneta elongata in 1979 by A.D Blest from male and female specimens. The holotype is stored in Te Papa Museum.[1]

Description

The male and female are recorded at 5.58mm in length.[1]

Distribution

This species is only known from Mount Arthur in Nelson, New Zealand.[1]

Conservation status

Under the New Zealand Threat Classification System, this species is listed as "Data Deficient" with the qualifiers of "Data Poor: Size", "Data Poor: Trend" and "One Location".[2]
