As discussed on wikipedia-l (I suppose I should have mentioned it here): I put the [center] and [i] on to reduce its intrinsic obnoxiousness. No-one's going to miss it at the top of every page; this way, though, at least it doesn't hit you over the head so hard.
I would have put it in [small] as well, but that's too small in Monobook or Cologne Blue skins. I would like it if someone who knows CSS better than I do could put it in [small] for the Classic skin only.
I have no idea why the [font] tag - presumably an issue with a given skin - David Gerard 15:35, 16 Jul 2004 (UTC)
HTML tags
Please keep formatting HTML out of this as much as possible. Use MediaWiki:Monobook.css for that. Since you appear to want it centred and italics, I have made the necessary changes there for you. Please clear your cache to see the changes. Make any further formatting/layout changes there. Thanks! — 131.111.193.146 15:40, 16 Jul 2004 (UTC)
- Of course, that was me -- I was logged out to see what the message looks like without my own user CSS. — Timwi 15:41, 16 Jul 2004 (UTC)
- You are of course entirely correct. Where's the Classic skin css live? - David Gerard 15:45, 16 Jul 2004 (UTC)
- An editable Classic skin css doesn't exist yet. According to the mailing list, Timwi has coded this. When this goes live, you will be able to edit the classic skin at MediaWiki:Standard.css. Angela. 23:36, 16 Jul 2004 (UTC)
