Manahar is a village in Chandauli district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.

The literacy rate is 91.50% as total population about to 85% in the age group of 50-70years and 90% in the age group of 30-50years and 100% in the age group of 5-30 years respectively. Most of the people's are preparing for various competitive exams. Students are studying in various types of institutions like Kendriya Vidyalaya, Private Schools, State Universities and Central Universities like KASHI VIDYAPEETH and BANARAS HINDU UNIVERSITY, PONDICHERRY UNIVERSITY and Chhattisgarh Central University. Some of the people are also well educated in technical education from premier institution like Chandauli Polytechnic Chandauli in various trades. No doubt this village is very small but it's famous for its rich culture and helping hands for anyone.We welcome everyone who read and want to know about this village. Manahar is well connected via Railway and Roadways. The state highway Chandauli-Chakiya-Naugarh and National Highway (NH-2). GT Road is 4.5 km far from the village. The Distance between Manahar and Varanasi is only 30 km. Means of transport are available 24*7 hours basis.

Economy

There are various sources of income for the village one and important is agricultural activity or farming . Agricultural land is very costly here due to direct connection from Varanasi. Rice and Wheat are the major crops and most of the income generated through these two crops only. Mango trees are famous with various varities.

Most of the working people are in the armed forces here like Indian Army, Police etc. Some of them are in Punchayati Raj Vibhag, some of them are in Railway and UPPCL. Very rare people are in Teaching services like Primary School Teacher Or Navodaya Vidyalaya teacher. We hope that our village will do better in coming years and our tallies will increase soon.

Geography

Indira Gandhi Canal flows to the West of village from North to South direction. Which was made by P.T. Kamalapati Tripathi then chief minister of Uttar Pradesh. It covers whole Pratappur Gramsabha. Holly Ganga river is 25 km away from the village in the North - West direction in Baluaa-Chandauli and 30 km away on the west side in Varanasi.Two other rivers Chandraprabha and Karmanashaa also flows in South and East of this village. Famous Tourist destination RAJ-DARI and Dev-Dari waterfalls are at 30km distance in South. Famous Naugarh Fort is 60km from here.
