Burt joined Scottish Championship side Dumbarton on a 28-day emergency loan in February 2018.[8] He extended the deal in March 2018,[9] scoring his first goal in senior football for the club in a 5-2 defeat to Falkirk.[10] Burt was loaned to Championship club Alloa Athletic in August 2018.[11] On 17 May 2019, it was announced that Burt would be released by Rangers.[12]

On 2 December 2022, it was announced that Burt had signed for Bohemians arch rivals Shamrock Rovers ahead of the 2023 season.[15]
After a disappointing first season with Rovers, it was announced on 22 December 2023, that Burt had signed a season loan loan deal with Shelbourne.[16]
