Ivar is a 2003 Indian Malayalam-language action crime thriller film written and directed by T. K. Rajeev Kumar and produced by Santhosh Damodharan under the banner Damor Cinema. The film is loosely based on the Hong Kong crime thriller Infernal Affairs. Jayaram plays the protagonist[1] and Biju Menon is the antagonist. The film also stars Bhavana, Siddique, Janardhanan and Rizabawa. The film was mostly shot in Steadicam by the cinematographer of the film Madhu Neelakandan, and was edited by Arun Kumar Aravind.

Plot
editIvar is an action movie. The movie is all about the underworld, goons and the mafia. Jose, known as Pambu Jose (Biju Menon), is a dreaded underworld don and his rival is Minnal Thankan (P.Balachandran). Jose's close aide is Ninja Hakkim (Anil Murali) and gun moll is Rita (Devi Ajith) along with blind man Vinayakan (Vinayakan). Raghava Menon (Jayaram), a police officer gets into the gang and becomes close to Jose like Hakkim. No one knows that Raghava Menon's goal is to wipe out the mafia.
Raghava Menon works in tandem with the DGP (Janardhanan). The DGP's daughter Nandini (Bhavana) is in love with Menon. Menon uses the underworld rivalry and gathers information on police informers and those on the take to create havoc in mafia camps.

Music
editThe film's only song was composed by Srinivas, making it his third foray into music composition, while the film's background score was composed by Rajeev Kumar's collaborator Sharreth who had previously worked with him for over nine films before Ivar was made. The song were written by lyricist Beeyar Prasad.
