Early life and education

Ian Felice was born in 1982 in the Catskill Mountains of New York.[3][4] Later, he moved to New York City to study arts. He earned a B.F.A. in painting from Pratt Institute.[5]

Career

edit

In 2006, Ian Felice formed a music band named The Felice Brothers with his brothers Simone and James.[3][6]

In August 2017, Felice released his debut solo album, In the Kingdom of Dreams, through Loose.[7][8][9] It was recorded over four days in February at Sugar Mountain Studios in Palenville, New York, and produced by Simone Felice.[10][11] The cover features Albert Pinkham Ryder's painting, "Death on a Pale Horse."[12] Felice wrote the album in 2016 as he was about to become a father.[10][13]

Felice was initially a painter before switching to his musical career.[14] His artwork has appeared on several album covers for The Felice Brothers, including the Christmas vinyl Country Ham and Murder by Mistletoe (2016), Favorite Waitress (2014), and Undress, which was released in May 2019.[14] His background in visual arts also influences his music and literary efforts.[14]
