Location and Connectivity

edit

The station is situated near Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 of Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI), offering easy access for both domestic and international travelers. The Airport Express Line has a mix of both underground & elevated metro stations. The Dhaula Kuan Metro Station is elevated & other metro stations on Airport Express Line are underground.

Inauguration and Operations

edit

The station was inaugurated on 23 February 2011.[1]

The Airport Express Line itself is a 22.7-kilometer (14.1 miles) stretch, designed to offer fast, reliable transport between New Delhi Railway Station and Dwarka Sector 21 via the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI).

The fare for traveling on the Delhi Airport Express Line is generally higher than the regular Delhi Metro lines, due to its premium services like faster trains and airport-specific facilities. As of recent data, the fares range approximately from INR 50 to INR 100 for a one-way trip, depending on the distance covered.[2]

Alternate rail access to the airport

edit

The closest Indian Railways station is Shahabad Mohammadpur (SMDP).[3] Also within distance is Palam Railway Station (PM).[4]
