Heterocorticium is a genus of fungi in the family Auriculariaceae. Basidiocarps (fruit bodies) are corticioid (effused), with a smooth surface, and occur on bamboo or wood. Two species have been described, both from China.[1]

Taxonomy
editThe genus was created as a result of molecular research, based on cladistic analysis of DNA sequences, which showed that Heterocorticium species formed their own distinct clade, separate from morphologically similar Exidiopsis species.[1]
