Hennessy Carolina Almánzar (born December 22, 1995), is an American media personality, television personality and fashion designer. Born and raised in New York City, she gained popularity on the VH1 reality television series Love & Hip Hop: New York.[2][3]

Early life
editHennessy Carolina Almánzar was born on December 22, 1995, in the Bronx, New York City,[4][5] to Carlos Almánzar, a Dominican, and Clara Almánzar, a Trinidadian of African and Spanish descent,[6][7] and was named after the cognac Hennessy, as her father arrived intoxicated on Hennessy at her birth and suggested the name to her mother.[8][9] She identifies as Afro-Latina and has an older sister, Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar (born 1992), also known as Cardi B.[10] She completed her early education at a local private high school before attending Renaissance High School for Musical Theater & Technology, a vocational high school located on the Herbert H. Lehman High School campus.[11]
Career
editHennessy Carolina first rose to fame alongside rapper Cardi B on the VH1 reality television series Love & Hip Hop: New York,[12][13] and has since appeared on shows including MTV's The Challenge: Champs vs. Stars[14][15][16] and Hip Hop Squares.[17][18] In 2018, she collaborated on a collection with Boohoo,[19][20] and in 2019, she landed a campaign with Moschino.[21][22] In a 2019 interview with Galore, she stated, "I want to dominate the fashion industry and I would eventually like to get into the makeup industry," outlining her career plans."[23] Carolina has accumulated over 8 million followers on Instagram.[24][25]

Personal life
editHennessy Carolina publicly identified as bisexual in an instagram post in 2018.[26][27] She was in a relationship with Michelle "Mel" Diaz from 2017 to 2021.[28]
