Hanif Yusuf is a Sri Lankan businessman, entrepreneur, and the current governor of the Western Province of Sri Lanka.[1][2] He is also the co-founder of Expolanka Holdings.[3]

Early life and education
editHanif Yusuf was born in Kollupitiya in 1958, to Gujarati parents. His family immigrated just prior to the partition of India, his grandfather became a citizen at the suggestion of prime minister John Kotelawala, who he had met playing cards. Yusuf was educated at the Royal College.[4]
Career
editYusuf cofounded Expolanka Holdings. Under his leadership, Expolanka grew to be the largest company by market capitalisation in Sri Lanka.[5]
Governor of Western Province (2024–present)
editAfter the election of Anura Kumara Dissanayake as president in the 2024 Sri Lankan presidential election, Hanif Yusuf was appointed as Governor of the Western Province on 28 September 2024.
