English: Senators voted to remove Judge Thomas Porteous from office based on four articles of impeachment brought by the House. This marked the first time since 1989 that a federal judge had been removed by the Senate. Judge Porteous was only the eighth federal judge to be convicted and removed from office through impeachment. |
