Etelis coruscans, common name the longtail snapper or deep-water red snapper, is a species of snapper found in the Pacific and Indian oceans. It is a valuable commerical species, and lives quite deep – from 210 to 300 m (690 to 980 ft). They are a long-lived species that grow and mature slowly. In Hawai'i the fish is widely known as onaga. When eaten, it has a mild flavour and pale pink flesh.
