Notable phrase?
editIs this phrase notable enough to be a stand-alone article? -- 1Wiki8........................... (talk) 21:46, 2 September 2016 (UTC)
- No. ---Another Believer (Talk) 21:54, 2 September 2016 (UTC)
- Maybe, but WP:TOOSOON, IMO. Give it time, see if significant media coverage persists.--NextUSprez (talk) 19:09, 3 September 2016 (UTC)
- This is my general thought too. If coverage is just of the interview and the immediate reactions, probably best that this be a section in another article. If coverage continues then there may be a good case for stand-alone article. For example, Time magazines coverage of the taco truck used for voter registration in Denver[1]. -- 1Wiki8........................... (talk) 19:35, 3 September 2016 (UTC)
- And NPR writing that taco trucks "now straddle the worlds of political symbol and internet meme"[2] is most interesting. -- 1Wiki8........................... (talk) 22:26, 3 September 2016 (UTC)
About a week after the event, and media coverage, commentary and opinion pieces continue. More media coverage of taco trucks used as protests/voter registration drives/promotions/etc. I am heavily leaning towards moving this to mainspace soon, with the full expectation that someone will send it to AFD (based on WP:TOOSOON would not be suprising). However the amount and variety of coverage from independent reliable sources about the event and aftermaths also have me heavily leaning towards this topic reaching the criteria for Wikipedia:Notability (events), not to mention a very clear pass of WP:GNG. -- 1Wiki8........................... (talk) 10:37, 7 September 2016 (UTC)
- I agree. The coverage in reliable media sources has persisted, seemingly to the point of satisfying the criteria of WP:GNG and WP:EVENT. I would have no objection to moving to the mainspace.--NextUSprez (talk) 17:23, 12 September 2016 (UTC)
- No. Now, 2 weeks after the event, and coverage and commentary have faded; there's no significant rallying around the slogan or usage of it to identify a movement. Is this subject notable enough to warrant a paragraph in the 2016 U.S. presidential campaign article? ... Sure. Is it notable enough to be a stand-alone article? ... No. Drdpw (talk) 18:14, 12 September 2016 (UTC)
- I, or someone else, will be moving this draft to mainspace as soon as the under-construction sections are cleaned up. Would you like to be notified when it is moved, so you can send it directly to AFD? -- 1Wiki8........................... (talk) 18:35, 12 September 2016 (UTC)
- Ah someone beat you to it, but no worry. As expected: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Taco trucks on every corner -- 1Wiki8........................... (talk) 21:06, 12 September 2016 (UTC)

DELETE, The alleged originator does not even have a Wikipedia page. Who the heck is this person? Can I create a page quoting a guy I overheard talking at a bar???? 2602:306:37F7:1FE0:689F:A9EF:B372:A1FA (talk) 06:25, 12 October 2016 (UTC)
Next up: anyone interested feel free to edit Draft:Marco Gutierrez. And let the discussion begin about if a bio on this person will pass WP:BLP1E and WP:BIO1E. -- 1Wiki8........................... (talk) 11:57, 15 September 2016 (UTC)
And while we're at it, another related event about a controversy between Austin and San Antonio regarding who "invented" breakfast tacos. Please feel free to edit: Draft:Breakfast Taco War. -- 1Wiki8........................... (talk) 12:09, 18 September 2016 (UTC)
