Zouqu Town (Chinese: 邹区镇) is a township-level administrative unit under the jurisdiction of Zhonglou District, Changzhou, Jiangsu Province, the People's Republic of China.[2] It is located in the province of Jiangsu, in the eastern part of the country, about 100 kilometres (62 mi) east of the provincial capital, Nanjing. The number of inhabitants is 97,530.[1] The population consists of 46,697 women and 50,833 men. Children under 15 make up 12%, adults 15-64 make up 80%, and seniors over 65 make up 7%.[1]
Geography and climate
editAround Zouqu, it is densely populated, with 982 inhabitants per square kilometer.[3] The nearest larger community is Changzhou, 11.1 kilometres (6.9 mi) northwest of Zouqu. The area around Zouqu consists mostly of agricultural land.[4]
Zouqu has a humid subtropical climate (Köppen: Cfa) with hot and wet summers and cold and humid winters. Average annual rainfall is 1,525 millimetres (60.0 in). The rainiest month is July, with an average of 289 millimetres (11.4 in) of precipitation , and the driest is January, with 43 millimetres (1.7 in) of precipitation.[5]
