Biography

edit

Živoin Milovanović was born on 23 January 1884 in Kruševac, Serbia. He graduated from high school in his hometown, and in 1903 he was promoted to the rank of second lieutenant in the infantry, after graduating from the Military Academy in Belgrade. In 1905, he joined a company in Macedonia, having the main task of organizing the headquarters of the Serbian committee west of the Vardar district. He participated in the battle near Čelopek on 16 April 1905, and then together with Lazar Kujundžić and Savatije Milošević he moved to Kosovo. He settled in Velika Hoča with his company, where he was betrayed by the Albanian Lanya Ukin.

On 25 May (1905), the house where the Serbian Chetniks were located was surrounded and set on fire by Turkish soldiers, and Lazar Kujundžić, Savatije Milošević, Žika Milovanović, Krsta Konjuški from Konjuh (Kosovo), Tasa Milenković from Drajkovce and Staniša Šelić from Gotovuša were all killed that day[2][3][4].
