Vishal Tulsian (born 1972) is an Indian entrepreneur, banker, keynote speaker and author.[citation needed] He is the founder and CEO of Tunaiku, an Indonesian fintech company, and currently serves as the CEO and President Director of PT Bank Amar Indonesia Tbk.[1][2]
Early life and education
editTulsian was born in 1972 in Kolkata, India. He received his Chartered Accountancy and Company Secretary qualifications in India. Later, he received his MBA from the University of Liverpool and MSc in Blockchain and Digital Currency from the University of Cyprus.[3] He is an alumnus of Harvard Business School.
Career
editTulsian started his career as the CEO of Horizon Tissue, a tissue paper manufacturing company within the Tolaram Group in Estonia.[4]
In 2014, he founded Tunaiku, an Indonesian fintech company that provides online lending services, which was later acquired by PT Bank Amar Indonesia Tbk.[5][6][7] Currently, Vishal serves as the CEO and President Director of PT Bank Amar Indonesia Tbk.[8][9] Notably, he led the transformation of this conventional bank into Indonesia’s first Digital Bank on the cloud, achieving profitability within two years of operations. Additionally, he led the efforts to list the company on the Jakarta Stock Exchange.[10][11]
Throughout his career, Tulsian has won several industry awards in Indonesia, including Most Admired CEO and Master Entrepreneur Award in 2019 and 2021, respectively.[12][13] He has also been involved in a number of social projects, such as helping Habitat for Humanity build houses.[14] He is also an advisor at India’s FinTech and EdTech focused venture capital fund, Blinc Invest.[3]
