New England is the area marked in red. The states in the region include Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine.

Most of the tallest buildings are located in the southern part. Boston, Massachusetts has the highest number of skyscrapers at 25. The only other city with skyscrapers in New England is Hartford, Connecticut. For most of the 20th century, the Travelers Tower in Hartford, built in 1919, had the title; for a time it was the tallest building outside of New York City. The title would be given to the Prudential Center in Boston, built in 1964.
