History

edit

The National Systems Conference (NSC), established in 1973, has played a pivotal role in fostering the general systems movement in India. The conferences were initially held every 18 months, but as the movement gained momentum and participation grew, the Systems Society of India (SSI) was formed in 1981 to provide a central organizational structure. Originally registered in Delhi, the SSI was re-registered in Thiruvananthapuram in 1997 (Reg No. T-1302/97) under the Societies Act of 1860. Since its inception, the SSI has conducted Forty-five National Systems Conferences, workshops, and seminars to promote the study and application of systems science and engineering in India.[11] [12][9][13]
