SYNCED is a free-to-play futuristic shooter developed by NExT Studios and published by Level Infinite. It was released on 8th Septemdber, 2023. Set in a techno-apocalyptic future, the game is set in the aftermath of a catastrophic event known as the Collapse, which has unleashed rogue nanotechnology on the world. Players, known as Runners, must navigate the perilous exclusion zone of Meridian, where they battle deadly nanomachines called Nanos and compete for valuable resources.^[1]

Gameplay

In SYNCED, players team up in squads of three to engage in both player versus environment (PvE) and player versus player (PvP) matches. The game features a blend of fast-paced combat and strategic team play, requiring players to use their environment, teammates, and companion Nanos to create tactical advantages. Players can tame and weaponize defeated Nanos to use against their enemies, providing a unique twist on traditional shooter mechanics.

Setting and Story

The game is set in the near future where nanotechnology, once a cornerstone of civilization, has become a menace. Following the Collapse, nanomachines have turned into aggressive, predatory creatures that consume humans to propagate. The primary battleground is Snake River Valley, WA, the epicenter of the Collapse, where fortune-seekers known as Runners gather to find Nerva, a highly sought-after nano-energy substance. These Runners have various motivations, from personal gain to achieving glory, but all are driven by the prospect of the valuable resource.
